INTODUCTION
Baddies is an American reality television series that premiered on May 16, 2021 on Zeus Network. It was developed following an episode of The Conversation, which featured cast members from the former series Bad Girls Club that aired on Zeus in December 2020. The original Bad Girls Club was first debuted on December 5, 2006. The series had a total of 12 seasons ending in year 2014.
The show Baddies was created by executive producers Natalie Nunn and Tanisha Thomas who were former cast members of the original series Bad Girls Club. While Natalie Nunn continued to star on the shows ongoing seasons of Baddies, Tanisha left after the first season. The show documents the interactions between several young women living together while hosting a series of promotional events, which often involve verbal and physical altercations with outsiders and casts on the show.
Baddies has aired four seasons, which are uniquely named after where they were filmed. Baddies ATL, Baddies South, Baddies West, and Baddies East all filmed during road trips through the respective regions of the United States. On December 31, 2023 the fifth season was announced and will be titled Baddies Caribbean. They have recently put out a new auditions episode for the fifth season on Zeus.
OVERVIEW AND CASTING
The first season, Baddies ATL, premiered on May 16, 2021, on the Zeus Network featuring Natalie, Seven, Judi, Sarah, Christina, Janelle, Sidney, and Tanisha. As they resided in a mansion in Atlanta over the course of filming many altercations and debates happened.
The second season, Baddies South, began airing on June 12, 2022 casting Natalie as the only member to return. The official cast for the second season featured newcomers Persuasian, Jela, Chrisean Rock, Rollie, Anne, Slim, Scotty, and Bri. The show immediately popularized after the appearance of Chrisean being the main source of attention on the new season.
Prior to the third season premiere, a three-part special titled Baddies West Auditions aired on Zeus, featuring pre-screen judges, main stage judges and the hosts. The third season, Baddies West, Premiered on January 22, 2023. Natalie, Chrisean, Rollie, and Scotty were the only series regulars to reprise their roles from the previous season. In addition to the returning cast, Biggie, Stunna Girl, Lo London, DJ Sky, Razor and Cat were also featured as the new cast members. Chrisean continued to be the face of the entire show.
Zeus announced the upcoming fourth season on April 28, 2023, with the Baddies East Auditions special being help in Washington, D.C. It began airing on June 18, 2023. The official cast was released on August 3, 2023. The premier was September 17, 2023 casting Natalie, Chrisean, Rollie, Scotty as the returners and Sky, Tee, Woah Vicky, Siya, Smiley, Ahna Mac, Camilla, Mariah Lynn, and Chrisean's sister Tesehki. Chrisean had to leave the season due to her pregnancy but the show must go on. Season four of Baddies had the biggest amount of cast members of all the seasons.
The show continued to become the biggest platform on Zeus Network. As the show began to expand, more opportunities were given to the members of Baddies. Their pay individually began to increase. They were allowed to go to bigger and better locations such as Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, New Orleans, Oakland, Jamacia and more. They were staying in bigger and fancier Mansions. In Baddies East specifically they split the girls in half and stayed in two different houses the entire season. The Baddies platform has definitely sparked the charts in 2024.
